Join us in this hands-on workshop with local artist Elizabeth Mihaltse Lindy for an introduction in making making inks from plants, minerals, and even animal materials. Learn how to coax rich color from the world around you, from wilted flowers, berries, pits, and bark to unexpected natural sources, and transform them into expressive, living inks and paints using natural binders. Each material carries its own story and unique beauty.
We'll explore the fleeting nature of many plant- and animal-based inks, along with techniques for modifying and deepening their colors. Through hands-on experimentation with simple chemistry, you'll witness colors shifting and transforming before your eyes as you create a palette drawn directly from the natural world.
All materials provided. No experience necessary. All skill levels welcome. Adults &15+
