Overview
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to stitch lightweight canvas with shells, starfish, and coral to create a sweet beach scene. We’ll cover tools, steps for preparing an embroidery hoop, basic stitches, and how to work with store-bought or custom patterns. You’ll also explore ways to create texture and dimension with embroidery thread. By the end, you’ll leave with your own custom embroidered piece that you can display (or stitch to pillows, dish towels, or tote bags).
All materials provided and no experience necessary.
Format: 3-hour, one-time workshop
You'll get to take your hoop home as well as additional thread to continue your new embroidery skills.

Taught by Kirsten Nunez a multi-disciplinary artist and writer based in Beacon. A lifelong maker, she primarily focuses on embroidery, jewelry making, zines, and block printing—though she frequently attends workshops to learn new mediums.
