Grow your creativity and watch your skills bloom in this beginner-friendly, three-week watercolor series!
What better way to brighten the last few weeks of winter than by learning something new? Over three sessions, you'll explore watercolor techniques, build your confidence, and make time for a little creativity each week.
Overview
This 3-session class is perfect for anyone who wants to learn, freshen up, or improve their watercolor skills. Together we will explore the fundamental skills for successful watercolor painting. You will experience the medium through three art elements and three essential techniques. By the end of the class, you will understand how to lay out a balanced and eye-catching arrangement, mix stunning colors, and take home a frame-worthy painting uniquely created by you.
Week One:
During this first class, we will dig into how to choose a reference, create an arrangement, and lay out your design. We will explore color theory and how to mix realistic greens and vibrant floral colors. In this session, you will create your own individual color palette and recipes and begin practicing water and brush control.
Week Two:
On this evening, we will study the use of layers in watercolor and how to build the values that bring your beautiful subjects to life. You will spend time practicing different skills for applying the medium and begin laying down your base layers.
Week Three:
Our last evening together is all about the lovely details! We will spend time adding depth, and you will explore how to blend realism with abstraction. We will share some fun techniques for adding texture and interest to your painting and sprinkle in some meaningful conversations about the importance of having a creative practice and the benefits of “getting into the flow”. This class is for absolute beginners, creatives looking to brush up on their skills or learn new techniques, and anyone who wants to grow a joyful, creative practice. The small group format allows for questions, demonstrations, and individual support when needed. A complimentary written e-book will be available to support your continued practice.
Materials: For this 3 week class, you will need to purchase or bring your own supplies. A supplies list will be provided to students once registered for class.

A Little Flexibility, Because Life Happens!
We believe making time for creativity should be something you look forward to, not another source of stress!
We know that committing to a weekly class isn't always easy. If you're running late from work, you're welcome to join us when you can, and we'll do our best to help you catch up. If you miss a session due to illness or an unexpected change of plans, we'll give you an overview of what you missed so you can pick up where you left off. Our goal is to help you make creativity a regular part of your life, even when life gets busy. Come as you are, make the most of the time you have, and enjoy the process!
