Intro to Cyanotype: The Art & Science of Printing with Light (Adults & Ages 8+)

Create artwork shaped by light in this beginner and family-friendly cyanotype workshop led by artist and educator Nikki Romanello.

Overview
Known for its rich indigo blue tones and beautifully unpredictable results, cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic processes — using light-sensitive materials to create one-of-a-kind prints with natural objects, textures, transparencies, and photo negatives.
This hands-on workshop is designed for curious beginners, creative experimenters, and anyone interested in art, photography, or process-based making. Expect an afternoon of layering, playing, and discovering how light, texture, and composition come together to create unique images.
Participants are welcome to bring photo negatives, pressed flowers, translucent materials, or small flat objects to experiment with during class.

About the Teaching Artist
Nikki Romanello is an interdisciplinary sculptor whose work bridges art, science, and fabrication. She received a BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute. She has worked with artists and organizations including Will Ryman, Robert Lazzarini, and Token NYC, completed a residency at Hot Wood Arts Center, and presented a solo BioArt exhibition at the University Science Center in Philadelphia. Nikki currently leads art workshops at art centers, libraries, and schools.

Kids 8-12  are welcome with parent supervision $35 
This workshop needs a minimum of 5 people to run.  A $15 materials fee per person is included in cost.
