Through step-by-step instruction, you'll learn simple watercolor techniques including color mixing, creating depth, layering washes, and painting trees, skies, and reflections.
Laura Leigh's teaching style encourages creative expression over perfection, making this a welcoming experience for all skill levels. Along the way, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the Hudson Valley landscape while enjoying a peaceful, mindful creative experience.

About the Teaching Artist: Laura Lee Lanchantin is a fine artist and maker of organic watercolor paints based in New Paltz, NY. Laura blends the line between abstraction and landscape in her plein air oil paintings. After completing her BFA in Painting and Drawing from SUNY New Paltz in 2014, she has completed several artist's residency programs, many in national parks. Laura has created her own earth pigment library made from Ochre minerals and clay from around the country, and now spends most of her time teaching online and in person classes. She believes that painting is therapeutic and wants to help heal and connect people through creative expression.

- For one-time workshops, cancellations made within 7 day will receive a class credit. We determine whether a class will run and purchase materials based on enrollment numbers at that time.
