Treat yourself to a calming, hands-on creative experience as you learn the art of cold-process soap making with artist and maker Nikki Romanello at That Creative Space in Beacon, NY. This workshop can accommodate families with children 8+.
Overview
This workshop is designed for anyone craving a moment to slow down, learn something new, and make something beautiful with natural ingredients. You’ll explore how simple oils, botanicals, and scent come together to create a gentle, nourishing bar of handmade soap. No experience needed—just curiosity.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll get a brief look at the history of soap and how this everyday item evolved into a craft, then dive into how the cold-process method works and why it creates such luxurious, skin-loving bars. We’ll cover safe handling of lye in an approachable way, explore how different oils and natural ingredients influence scent, lather, and texture, and walk through simple ways to personalize your soap with herbs, seeds, and essential oils.
What You’ll Make
You’ll mix and pour your own small-batch soap, choosing from a variety of natural botanicals and aromatic oils to create a bar that feels personal, intentional, and uniquely yours.
What You’ll Take Home
A beautifully crafted bar of handmade soap that will cure into a rich, nourishing daily ritual.
Perfect as a thoughtful, handmade gift—for yourself or someone who treasures natural, handmade products.
